Indore-Nagpur-Dubai flight soon
NEW DELHI: AIR-INDIA Express is likely to introduce Indore to Dubai via Nagpur flight soon, the Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel informed the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
In a written answer to Sumitra Mahajan, the Minister said Air-India Express has plans to introduce flights from Indore to Dubai via Nagpur on availability of Customs and immigration facilities at Indore Airport. In another written reply, Patel said while the National Aviation Company of India Limited does not have immediate plans to introduce more air services from Aurangabad, Pune and Nagpur due to non-availability of spare capacity, Lufthansa airline of Germany has proposed operations on Pune-Frankfurt route with an all Business class A-319 aircraft. MAH LEADS IN JNNURM: Minister of State for Urban Development, Ajay Maken confirmed in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that Maharashtra is now one of the leading States under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) with 56 projects being approved at a cost of Rs. 7732.45 crore. Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh have been sanctioned 55 and 39 numbers of projects respectively. The Government of Maharashtra has submitted 141 project proposals costing Rs. 36379.27 crore. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) which are found to be in compliance with the guidelines of JNNURM are considered by the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee for approval. 56 DPRs have been sanctioned for Maharashtra at a total approved cost of Rs. 7732.45 crore.

We Indoreans are expecting an International Airport by very longtime, but unfortunately it is a shocking news to know that Govt has started its work. But we don’t know the delay,because we expected the first flight in this Ramzan.

This is really a good step and will be more comfortable for indorians . Cos they have to get down at nearest port while coming back from dubai and then to catch other flights for indore. This is our request to please start it from Aug’08 onwward. Thanks .

It would be a pleasant experience to see Indore on international airports global network. Establishment of custom and immigration at Indore may not be instantly though. These formalities could be accomplished at Nagpur as any how flight will halt there and would be on domestic sector onwards to Indore. Knowing the tardy pace of govt implementation it would be a boon if we see this being materialized in 2008. Finger crosses and hopes linger on…………

We Indorians should be thankful to Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan for her commendable efforts to link Indore to the World. It will be easy to us to connect from Lagos ( Nigeria ) to Indore via Dubai. The BJP Govt. has really tried.

i am hearing this from last 7 years that indore would become an international airport. don’t know when would this happen and when would i start flying to my hometown directly from UAE.
As an Indorean & onbehalf of Indore NRI’s ,It is my humble request to Hon’ble SUMITRA MAHAJAN, Hon’ble Minister PRAFFUL PATEL, please don’t delay for your action to make the dreams true of Indore NRI’s. A great belief on THAI till date should not fade from the heart of us. Primary requirements can complete to start operation, later the developments can done slowly. Hence please start immediately the immigration office. Let us hope the dreams can be fruitfull before the dawn of 2009.
